Yes — a medical certificate for Zrenjanin can be issued online today, as a same-day PDF for €34.99 after a registered doctor reviews your case, covering all six certificate types. It is supporting documentation from a registered doctor; a statutory bolovanje in Serbia still has to be opened by your izabrani lekar and reaches your employer through the RFZO eBolovanje platform.

Medical Certificates in Zrenjanin: Who Needs Them?

Zrenjanin has been reshaped in the last few years by a single industrial project. The Linglong tyre factory here is described as the largest greenfield investment ever made in Serbia, at roughly a billion dollars, covering some 370,000 m² under one roof and now employing around 2,400 workers after starting with about 1,235 in its first phase. A plant of that scale running continuous production creates a documentation rhythm of its own: absence has to be evidenced fast, and workers are frequently required to produce a return-to-work sign-off before rejoining a shift.

Alongside the tyre plant, Central Banat keeps a broad base of food processing, agricultural and metalworking employers, much of it seasonal. Harvest and processing peaks in late summer and autumn pull in temporary workers who have no established relationship with an izabrani lekar in the district, and whose contracts nonetheless require documentation when they miss work. That group is one of the main users of private online assessment, simply because the statutory route is not open to them in practice.

Hospital care in the city centres on the Đorđe Joanović General Hospital on Dr Vase Savića, which serves the whole Central Banat catchment and has been expanding its inpatient capacity. As everywhere in Serbia the constraint is not the hospital but the layer in front of it: with roughly 600 doctors leaving the country each year and a national shortfall estimated above 1,000 doctors, a same-day primary-care appointment purely to obtain a note is hard to come by. For someone on a continuous rota, that turns a document into a choice between waiting days and losing a shift.

Zrenjanin also has a public health story that few Serbian cities share. Tap water here was officially banned for drinking in January 2004 because of arsenic levels, and the ban stood for over twenty years; a new treatment plant began operating in May 2025 and the prohibition was formally lifted in October 2025. Two decades of water advisories left the city unusually attentive to health documentation and unusually sceptical of vague reassurance — which is a reason to be precise about what a certificate does and does not cover.

The Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin", part of the University of Novi Sad, is based in Zrenjanin and teaches industrial and environmental engineering, information technologies, engineering management and clothing technology. Its students need medical documentation to support deferred exams and missed practicals, and because many commute in from across Banat, doing that in person can cost a full day of an exam period they cannot spare. The faculty's clothing technology programmes also feed directly into the region's textile and manufacturing employers, so the same students often need fitness or return-to-work documentation once they start work.

All Certificate Types Available in Serbia

Every certificate type is reviewed by a doctor registered to assess cases in Serbia. Choose the one that matches your situation below: if you're not sure which applies, the assessment will ask enough questions to route you correctly before you pay anything.

How It Works in Zrenjanin

  1. Complete assessment

3-5 minutes. Select your certificate type, confirm Serbia as your country, and answer health questions covering your condition, the dates involved, and any employer or institution details you'd like included. No payment yet. You're only charged if a certificate is issued.

  2. Doctor reviews your case

Reviewed by a doctor registered to assess cases in Serbia, generally during business hours (9am-6pm CET/CEST, Monday-Friday). The doctor may ask for more information through the same portal, or advise that your situation needs an in-person examination rather than an online certificate.

  3. Receive your PDF

Emailed the same day in most cases, with the reviewing doctor's credentials and a reference number that your employer, school, or institution can check to confirm authenticity directly.

Zrenjanin Sports Clubs

The city's handball, football and athletics clubs and its fitness centres ask for a fitness assessment at recreational sign-up — our Sports Fitness and General Fitness certificates cover this.

Airlines and Travel Insurers

Travelling after illness, injury or surgery often means producing written fit-to-fly confirmation for a carrier or insurer, which is what our Fit to Fly certificate is for.

Not for Statutory Sick Pay

Paid statutory sick leave, medical commission review and work-injury documentation all require a doctor inside the Serbian health system. We say no to those rather than issue a useless document.

Typical private consultation costs are a general range reported for Serbia and vary by clinic, city, and provider.

The difference generally reflects overhead: an in-person consultation carries clinic, receptionist, and travel time that an online assessment does not. You are paying for the doctor's review and the certificate itself, with same-day delivery in most cases and no need to take time off to sit in a waiting room. Sports fitness and fit-to-fly certificates are the same price as a general medical certificate, even though they generally involve a more detailed assessment of a specific activity or procedure.

Our Medical Team for Serbia

Every certificate issued for Serbia is reviewed by a doctor registered to assess cases in Serbia, based on a genuine clinical assessment of the health information you provide and, where needed, follow-up questions asked through the same online portal. If a certificate is not clinically appropriate, for example, if your case needs an in-person examination or further investigation, the doctor will decline to issue one, and you receive a full, automatic refund. We do not operate on a pay-first, questions-later basis: no certificate is guaranteed simply because a request was submitted, and the assessment is treated the same way a genuine in-person consultation would be.

Doctor credentials are shown on your certificate, and the reference number lets anyone checking it verify the certificate directly rather than relying on our word for it. If you ever have a concern about the assessment you received, our complaints process sits alongside, not instead of, your right to raise it through the appropriate channel for a doctor practising in Serbia. We would always prefer to resolve a concern ourselves first, but we won't suggest that using our service replaces a doctor's normal professional accountability, and we won't discourage you from pursuing that route if you feel it's necessary.

Registered practitioners, not a call centre.

Every doctor is independently verified against their national medical council before they see a single patient - including for patients in Zrenjanin.

Frequently Asked Questions

€34.99 flat for any of the six certificate types, including the doctor's review and the issued PDF. Nothing is added afterwards.

Yes. Submissions are accepted and reviewed every day of the week, including weekends and holidays, which is a large part of why continuous-shift workers here use the service. Most cases still get a same-day decision.

The assessment is driven by a structured clinical history, which is enough for many common presentations. Where hearing your chest, taking your blood pressure or running a test would genuinely change the answer, the doctor declines and tells you to be seen in person — that judgement is part of what you are paying for.

No, not for paid statutory sick leave. That requires your izabrani lekar to open a bolovanje inside the RFZO system, with the certificate reaching your employer electronically through eBolovanje – Poslodavac since 1 January 2026. We are not part of that system and cannot file into it. Our certificate can support an internal absence record or an unpaid day, and it is often what is wanted for return-to-work clearance — but it does not create a pay entitlement.

Find out whether they are refusing on policy or on law. If they need the statutory certificate, they are right and you need the state route. If it is a blanket policy against online documentation, pointing out that the certificate names a registered doctor whose registration can be checked often resolves it; if not, the statutory route is your fallback.

For recreational participation, yes — the doctor assesses whether there is anything that would make the activity unsafe and documents it. Competitive registration through a national sports federation can require a sport-specific in-person examination with prescribed tests, and in that case a remote certificate will not be accepted.

Commonly yes, for internal absence records, because seasonal staff usually have no local izabrani lekar and the employer knows it. Be clear-eyed about the limit: it documents a doctor's assessment, it does not produce sick pay.

It affects what you should tell the doctor. Long-term environmental exposure history is relevant clinical context and worth including in your answers, but assessing possible chronic exposure effects needs in-person examination and laboratory testing, which is not something a remote certificate can substitute for.

Generally yes, as supporting evidence for a deferred exam or missed practical. Check your faculty's deadline first — student offices often require the request within a fixed number of days, and a certificate that arrives after that window is of no use to anyone.

The doctor can document limitations relevant to your recovery, such as restrictions on lifting, standing or shift length, and that is often exactly what a production supervisor needs. A formal determination of fitness for a specific hazardous task is occupational health work under Serbian rules and requires an in-person examination by an authorised provider.
